A major part of the work in Portuguese here in Campinas is aiming young people below 30 years old.
There are around 44 people with an average attendance of 10-15 from which 6 young people are regulars.
They are Brazilian born Chinese with Cantonese background who are confused with their tradition, language, and Christian life.
65% of these young people are young adults who graduated or are almost graduating from college and who recently started working and taking on responsibilities. This group has people who recently married, those who are currently dating and others that are looking for partners. However, only 29% from this group are Christians, 29% were baptized but left church and 46% are not Christians but are either married or dating Christians or are close friends with Christians.
24% of these young people are either trying to get into college or recently became undergraduates who are studying in Campinas, nearby cities or abroad who are lost and confused with their independent lives and with the world.
11% of the total are young people who recently were teenagers.
We pray to God that He may touch these young people´s heart and make them mature so they can bring other young people and their own family members to church, so they can consecrate themselves and have a real and intimate live with God, so they can make right choices in their work and their relationships and search more for God than for the world.
May God bring safety, shelter, and union to the Christian family in the church through His love.
